Born and raised in San Francisco Beatrice Griffin grew up in a colorful and multicultural household. In her teens, she was immersed in the arts through her time in the Technical Theatre department at the Ruth Asawa School of The Arts. She attended The Evergreen State College and graduated with a BA in visual arts and literature.
